WE EXCEED EXPECTATIONS.

OUR INCREDIBLE IMPACT.

Throughout our website, we have tried to explain how our expertise and passion transforms people’s lives and often makes the impossible, possible.

But we know our words can only do so much. Unequivocally, it’s the words of the people we support and the professionals we work with that truly describe the incredible impact our work can have.

So please take the time to read the comments below. We promise you won’t be disappointed.

APPLAUSE ABOUT OUR WORK WITH CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE.

“I don’t know what to say but thank you. It is now time for me to spread my wings and fly. I no longer need you. Go help another young person.”

— Young woman with autism

“We now see hope after working with Positive Support Group. We can see Amara is doing well. After her exclusion, we started to lose hope. But working with you guys has helped us to believe that things will improve.”

— Parent of a child supported by Positive Support Group

“Before Positive Support Group came, I was walking on eggshells and too scared to enforce my parental authority. Now, I am much more confident in my parenting skills. If the worst happens, I feel I can cope with it. I feel more relaxed as a parent now.”

— Parent of eight-year-old-boy with learning disabilities and autism

“Feeling really tip top after today’s meeting. You guys have changed our lives already in such a short space of time. I’m looking forward in seeing what the future holds.”

— Parent of young man with autism

“I am now consciously thinking about her behaviour and mindful of the triggers. Using the recording systems has helped me identify patterns and realise that things are not bad all the time. It’s not easy to keep records but it is reassuring to see the data and understand what it means. When others [PSG] are working consistently, it motivates you to stick to the behaviour support. That has had a huge impact on us.”

— Parent of a child supported by Positive Support Group

“As parents, we see a lot of potential in Patience. Positive Support Group’s staff and paperwork reflected this and portrayed a very good positive picture of her. This contrasts with past paperwork that described her being violent and aggressive without context.”

— Parent of a child supported by Positive Support Group

“Very good. 10 out of 10. Excellent support and service. When we went to difficult meetings, we felt supported by Positive Support Group. Advocating for recommendation and support that we need as a family.”

— Parent from a family supported by Positive Support Group

“I just wanted to express my gratitude for working together to support Habeba and her family. I must attest that there is a significant positive change in her behaviour and how she manages her emotions. It is always a breath of fresh air to see something positive, especially in cases where the child has complex needs.”

— Social worker

“Raj was not aggressive or challenging. He was so engaged in communicating, leading and trying to assist. Nurses and teachers were very calm and natural in their response to Raj. It was good to see the progress made by the teams and PBS specialist.”

— Community nurse

“The PBS input seems a very supportive, adaptive and appropriate intervention. I can also see there is a very solid relationship between yourselves and the family. I think this is a secondary but hugely important aspect of the support you’re providing. The family have felt very unsure about services in the past; but I think this experience of consistent and empathic professional input will help to change this.”

— Psychiatrist

“I would like to say thanks again, your support really worked. I’m so relaxed now, thanks again for your great support.”

— Parent of child with ASD & LD

“Having read it several times we would just like to say thank you for expressing our thoughts so well and summarising them so succinctly in the Learning and Recommendation section. Communication has always been a major issue throughout Joseph's life and hopefully his experience in hospital may help others with similar problems. Many thanks once again.”

— Parent at CTR

APPLAUSE ABOUT OUR WORK WITH CARE PROVIDERS.

All names have been changed to protect the anonymity of the clients and their networks.

“Incidents and accidents were managed through a process where staff, including a behaviour analyst and speech and language therapist, could reflect upon the incident, analyse it, learn from it and put in preventative measures to minimise risks and behaviours that challenged the quality of people’s lives. This approach led to the number of incidents for one person dropping from up to 83 incidents in a month to months without any incidents.

The provider and staff had a very good understanding of each person’s behaviour and the factors that could impact this. For example, there was a recognition that the environment could impact the way a person behaved, and the provider went over and above to tailor the environment to suit people’s needs.

Staff were very skilled at using a wide range of methods to communicate with people as part of the provider’s ‘total communication’ approach. This also ensured people had access to the right means of communication for them to make their needs known. For example, the provider used ‘now and next boards’ to help prepare people for what was going to happen throughout their day.”

— CQC comments about an ‘outstanding’ care home supported by Positive Support Group

“The behaviour analyst works proactively with family members, managers and support staff to support the management and reduction of behaviour patterns which challenge. A systematic approach is in evidence, which has as its basis a comprehensive understanding of the sensory, communicative and health needs of the individual and the development and ongoing evaluation of multi-element behaviour support plans. The panel regard the service’s approach to behaviour support to be representative of good practice in the field.”

— National Autistic Society comments about a service which received Autism Accreditation after being supported by Positive Support Group

“The review report acknowledges the work that the service has completed in relation to behaviour support. The implementation of a clear policy, with structured recording and analysis of information, helps inform practice and the thorough imbedding of the systems represents a specific strength of the service.”

— National Autistic Society comments about a service which received Autism Accreditation after being supported by Positive Support Group

“We would very much like to continue working with you, as the team have been doing an amazing job with the CTRs and LeDeR reviews.”

— Service commissioner

“We have been very impressed with the collaborative working with Positive Support Group and home staff. The collaborative working with yourselves and the team have enabled some smooth transitions into the service and some pieces of very good work to take place despite the restrictions we are all placed under currently. Information has been shared swiftly and effectively to address any issues that have arisen and interventions have be agreed and implemented within the team. We appreciate the hard work that your team have been undertaking and recognise where plaudits are due.”

— Local team working with Positive Support Group provider

"When the programme first began all CCG’s were reliant on training up local staff from providers and CCG to be able to complete the reviews. At large this was unsuccessful in most localities and resulted in a large backlog nationally. As of January 2019 we only had 2% of completed reviews and the CCG decided to use a private consultancy company called Positive Support Group to complete our reviews instead and to this day we continue to use them. This has been very successful to our area and to date we are the highest performing CCG nationally in terms of completed reviews at 92%.”

— LeDeR Commissioner

APPLAUSE ABOUT OUR EXPERT TRAINING.

“I really enjoyed this training, as it made me think outside the box and about alternative ways to act when dealing with clients. Thank you!”

— Positive Support Group training delegate

“The trainer has amazing knowledge and passion for their work. I have learnt a lot of new things. One of the best courses I have ever been on.”

— Positive Support Group training delegate

“Thank you for yesterday. It was a really informative session, and the feedback from the nursing team was that they all felt the same. They all felt it was very valuable to the care they provide. The day seemed to bring the team together, and we had really positive conversations in the afternoon. Thanks again for all your hard work.”

— Nursing staff team leader

“I have to say I thought both trainers were excellent. Along with their knowledge of PBS, I liked their direct but professional approach. I also felt they respectfully challenged the team, as and when required. This fully engaged the team and created an excellent learning environment.”

— Care provider

“I just wanted to feedback that the presentation yesterday was engaging and really got across the importance of a flexible, person-centred approach, which I think really added to a workshop that was otherwise focused on NHS and statutory provision. I suspect several other commissioners may now come knocking on your door!”

— Service commissioner

“Invaluable training.

Equipped me to support the young person.”
