WHAT WE DO.

Traditionally, we provided face-to-face training to organisations and professionals. However, due to the recent coronavirus pandemic, we started to provide virtual training (webinars) from March 2020 that cover all our training offer. So far, we’ve received excellent feedback on our virtual training, and we would be more than happy to discuss how it could work for you or your organisation.

Currently, we offer the following training:

Bespoke training that focuses on the mastery of specific knowledge and skills, for example, how to implement a reinforcement schedule. Please get in touch with our team to discuss your needs and how we can meet them.

An introduction to positive behaviour support for frontline care professionals, as well as managers and directors of care organisations.

Train the trainer programme that upskills an internal trainer at an organisation so they can pass on PBS best practice to other members of the organisation’s workforce.

Commissioner training that helps healthcare commissioners understand the benefits of positive behaviour support and how it can be implemented into a new or existing strategy or service.

With all our training (both face-to-face and virtual), we use Active Student Responding measures, individual and group presentations, and assignments to encourage, improve and assess achievement.

We also provide detailed training materials that support the acquisition of knowledge and skills, helping people to develop key competencies.

And we make our training as engaging as possible by using a mix of tried and tested large group methods, small group activities and individual work, followed by actual in vivo practice, when possible.

OUR LIFE-CHANGING IMPACT.

We’re delighted to report that our expert training is highly regarded by everyone who attends it and typically leads to the following benefits for organisations and care professionals:

  • A thorough understanding of all aspects of positive behaviour support and its benefits.

  • Fresh thinking about how to provide support to people who display challenging behaviour.

  • Development of specific skills and knowledge, including those that focus on proactive strategies, such as total communication, teaching communication skills and function-based interventions.

  • Improved interaction between professionals and clients, including more timely engagement and appropriate support.

  • Greater confidence in what to do when managing a person’s challenging behaviour.

  • Increased job satisfaction because professionals can provide better support to the people they care for and see the positive impact it has on their lives.

“I really enjoyed this training, as it made me think outside the box and about alternative ways to act when dealing with clients. Thank you!”
