Welcome to BICS! Introducing our New North Central London Service

In May 2023, PBSC was contracted to start delivering our Behavioural Intensive Community Support Service (BICS) within North Central London, initially working with clients in Barnet, Haringey and Enfield and expanding into Camden and Islington. Referral criteria to the BICS service is for children and young people within NCL under the age of 18 who are on the Dynamic Support Register and RAG rated at Red or Amber. The diagnosis criteria are for individuals with or without LD and Autism and who are at risk of home, school or placement breakdown and/or hospital admission.

In addition to the usual outcome measures within the BICS service, NCL are piloting the Revised Children’s Anxiety and Depressions Scale (RCADS). The RCADS can be completed with individuals or their parents/carers to assess the presentation of depression and anxiety and pre/mid/post measures will be taken. The pilot will assess our work impacts more generalised outcomes such as mental health scores. The NCL team is made up of Dhi Jadeja, Service Lead and BCBA, UKBA(cert); Ellie Humphries, PBS practitioner; and Sam Bartram,Trainee Behaviour Analyst. The service is overseen by Lauren Firth, our BICS Division lead and BCBA, UKBA(cert). The new team has been working hard to establish PBSC and the BICS service within NCL by attending DSR and various other network meetings. The team has started working with several clients in the boroughs of Barnet and soon to be Enfield and Haringey. We are excited to bring our tried and tested service to these boroughs to improve the quality of lives of those living there and help them to achieve outstanding outcomes.
